Support Buhari, Mark tells international community

The President of the Senate, David Mark, has called on the international community to assist the President Buhari-led government to tackle insecurity, unemployment and epileptic power supply.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Paul Mumeh, in Abuja on Saturday.

Mark made the statement when the Presidential Special Envoy from South Korea led by Sen. Lee Ju-Young paid a visit to him and President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja respectively.

According to him, “Nigeria is ready and willing to partner with any nation that has the expertise and capacity to improve our commerce and Industry.”

Mark appreciated the international community for the solidarity and support for smooth transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government to an All Progressives Congress (APC) led government.

He said that Nigeria and Nigerians had embraced democracy as the best form of government and were prepared to defend its cause.

He however reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to partnering with South Korea to improve economic, parliamentary and socio-cultural ties that would be mutually beneficial to both countries.

Earlier, the leader of the South Korean Presidential delegation, Mr Lee Ju Young noted the strategic role Nigeria played in Africa and promised his country’s willingness to invest in Nigeria.

Young, according to the statement, harped on improved bilateral relationship between his country and Nigeria.

He noted that the success of the 2015 general elections and smooth handover of power had given confidence to investors to come to Nigeria.
