Jonathan appoints new DG of National Productivity Centre

President Goodluck Jonathan, has approved the appointment of Mr Kashim Akor, as the Director-General (DG) of the National Productivity Centre (NPC).

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by Mr Samuel Olowookere, Deputy Director Press, Ministry of Labour and Productivity.

In the statement, Olowookere said that the President’s approval was contained in a letter of appointment signed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Joel Ikenya.

According to him, the letter dated May 18, stated that the appointment of the new DG took effect from May 19 for a first term tenure of four years.

He said the appointment of Akor, a Director in the Centre with over 20years experience, was consequent upon the completion of the second and final tenure of the erstwhile DG, Paul Bdliya.

The new DG, according to the statement, holds a master degree in Public Administration and a certificate in Productivity Management from Spring Institute, Singapore.
