The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has expressed his readiness to assist the Pyramid Radio station, Kano, to acquire the much-needed modern equipment.

Sanusi said this when he received the new General Manager of the station, Alhaji Garba Ubale, who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Tuesday.

He said it was necessary for him to extend such support in view of the contribution of Radio stations such as Pyramid to the socio-economic development and promotion of peaceful coexistence in the state.

He expressed his willingness to prevail on relevant agencies in the provision of the modern communication facilities.

According to the emir, no responsible society would ignore the importance of the media in a promising democratic dispensation.

He also said that with adequate enlightenment and awareness, the public would understand the activities of government.

He thanked the management of the radio station for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to support any cause considered to be worthwhile.

Earlier, the general manager, Alhaji Garba Ubale, told the emir that he was at the palace to congratulate him on his coronation.

Ubale said the radio station would continue to portray Kano’s cultural heritage in good light and highlight its advantage to the outside world.

He said the station would also continue to seek for the emir’s wise counsel to enable it achieve greater heights.
