Is Femi Kuti and his ex-wife, Funke back together? This was the question on everyone’s lips at Tunde and Wunmi Obe’s house party held at the Alausa, Ikeja mansion of the Obes.
According to sources present at the T.W.O. Plus album listening party, the two estranged lovers cuddled up, held hands, laughed, conversed and even posed for the camera in a way typical of young lovers.
They enlivened the already jolly atmosphere, with many wondering why the two have not reconsidered rekindling the old flames that saw them tie the knot which later produced a son, Made, now a big boy.
This is not the first time the two will be photographed together in such ‘suggestive circumstances’ despite their strong insistence on being just friends. Recently at a concert in Eko Hotels & Suites, the two unabashedly displayed affections for each other, stuck to each other and whispered into each other’s ears as the concert was on.
Funke has also been seen around Femi at the Afrika Shrine several times and on one occasion sat on the Afrobeat king’s laps unmindful of all eyes trailing them.
After a lovey-dovey turned stormy marriage, Femi and Funke stayed apart for some years. In 2011, Femi filed for divorce and a year later, they were officially divorced. But less than a year after they parted ways, fans are beginning to assume the two are not ready to let go of each other with their closeness, even with lovely messages on social media.
While Funke has refused to remarry or is associated with any serious relationship since she parted ways with Femi, on the contrary, the Afrobeat king has had some liaisons with other ladies with some kids to boot.
