Produce talents that can compete internationally, Atiku tells Kano Sports Institute

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday in Kano called on the Kano Institute of Sport to produce sports men and women to attain international repute

Atiku made the call while inaugurating the institute in Karfi, Kura Local Government Area.

He urged the management of the institute to ensure that it trained and harnessed youths to participate in sports.

“The country is endowed with abundant talents that can be trained in the institute to produce sports men and women to attain international repute,” he said.

The former vice-president commended Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso for his developmental achievements in the state in the last four years.

He also commended the governor for his strides in sports development and youth empowerment.

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso said the state government spent over N1billion to build the institute.

He reiterated his government’s resolve to continue to provide the enabling environment that would stimulate grassroots sports development for young people to achieve excellence in life.

Kwankwaso also said that the government placed high premium on harnessing sports talents at the grassroots level in the state.
