Embattled national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged controversial Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose to show evidences that he supported opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last general elections.
In a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle, Mu’azu challenged comments attributed to Fayose that he supported APC and General Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s president-elect.
Mu’azu said he was a dedicated chieftain member of PDP that supported Fayose in his quest to be Ekiti governor for a second time, adding that, he would continue to support Fayose and Ekiti people.
In his first tweet he wrote, “Fayose: I have evidence that Muazu worked for APC, Mu’azu replied with, “We hope it’s not the kind of evidence he once said he had that Buhari was dying?”
He then told him to show proof he worked for APC. “We challenge Governor Fayose to come out with the evidence that shows National Chairman worked for APC during the elections,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
He then stated that: “The National chairman campaigned for Governor Fayose, defended him and was at his inauguration and will continue to support him and Ekiti people.”
Mu’azu then said he warned Fayose against hate speech but he refused. “You will all recall that the National Chairman warned members of our Presidential Campaign Organisation to stop the hate campaign.”
