Nigeria’s president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday condoled with Gov. Isa Yuguda of Bauchi over the death of his mother, Hajiya Hauwa Yuguda.

This is contained in a statement released by Malam Garba Shehu, Director Media and Publicity of All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation.

According to the statement, Buhari said he was deeply touched by the death of the governor’s mother because losing a parent is the most painful stage of one’s life.

“Losing one’s mother is one of the most painful and stubborn memories in the life of children.

“Anyone that has lost a parent before can easily appreciate the pains of Gov. Yuguda and his siblings over the unfortunate loss of his mother.

“Death is inevitable, and it is a test of one’s faith to suffer tragedies in life,” Buhari said in the statement.

Also in a condolence message to the governor, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar said nothing can replace the vacuum created by parents in the lives of their children.

“Parents are the most invaluable assets. Nobody can adequately pay back a parent for the sacrifices they make for their children.

“The loss of parents creates a huge vacuum because they are fountains of inspiration and guidance,” the statement read in part.

Both men prayed to Almighty God to grant Yuguda and his family members the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and bless the soul of the deceased.
