One of the world’s most generous scholarship schemes for Africa, UNICAF, has entered into a partnership deal with the University of South Wales (USW)- Wale’s largest university- to offer online MBA and Top Up BA programmes to Nigerians.
Information made available to P.M.NEWS Campus Sqaure has it that the public announcement of this partnership was held on Saturday, 25 April at the UNICAF Centre in Lagos (Olawoyin Awosika School of Innovative Studies – OASIS) and was hosted by Professor Abiola Awosika, an e-Learning expert and the Managing Director of OASIS.
Students interested in the online MBA and BA Top Up programmes of USW were also in attendance at the historic event.
Professor Awosika, who was excited about the new development, spoke on the advantages of e-Learning, especially with the way things are moving really fast, noting that, “the level of development of any nation is inextricably linked to the level of education of its people and as such partnerships like that of UNICAF/USW provides an opportunity to enhance education in the country.
“In addition to this, the partnership offers Nigerian students access to quality education at a fraction of the cost.”
UNICAF is one of the most generous scholarship programmes for Africans and partners with top institutions all over the world to offer quality education to African indigenes.
Representatives of UNICAF at the event further emphasised its reason for partnering with the University of South Wales, stating that the institution’s programmes have a 95% employment rate and sufficiently prepare students for the job market.
Mr. Joseph Abi, a representative of UNICAF, during an interactive session with some interested students, said “with the UNICAF-USW partnership, prospective students are able to apply for up to 75% scholarship for their programme of choice.”
He adding that “to qualify for the UNICAF-USW scholarship, prospects must be Nigerians who work in Nigeria.”
