The students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state have hailed their Union for the successful negotiation that led to the reduction of their school tuition fee by the university management.

PMNews Campus Square gathered that the reduction of the tuition fee was due to the relentless effort of the Students Union which made the university management reduce the tuition fee by N3000.

Prior the final negotiation, OAU students had embarked on various protests kicking against the increment in tuition fee which led to the closure of the university on 18 June 2014.

It was gathered by our correspondent that this reduction is a success to the current administration of the Students Union Executives as the students have shown a great deal of trust in them and believe they are ready to serve their best interests.

“I’m so happy that our tuition fee has been reduced from N19, 700 to N16, 700, this is a success to all Great Ife students and above all our students union executives, they have done a great job and we really appreciate them.
