The All Progressives Congress APC, Scandinavia chapter, has called on all Ndigbo in Lagos not to get distracted by the media blitz on the statement credited to Oba Rilwan Akinolu, insisting that the APC has maintained that both Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other executives of the party have made it clear that the Oba is not a card carrying member of APC and his personal opinion does not reflect the views of the party as a whole.

According to Lawal, “it is common knowledge that Lagos State in the last 16 years has been all inclusive in its governance and Igbo have been appointed commissioners in Lagos since the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration with Governor Babatunde Fashola following suit. We, the APC Scandinavia implore all our Ndigbo brothers and sisters to please put aside our differences, bury the hatchet and continue supporting  the change movement we started.”

Lawal quoted famous philosopher Johan Wofgang von Goethe, who said ‘the politician cries; unite and lead, is watchword of the wise’, “and as our anthem goes, though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand!”
