The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is stirring in Lagos state ahead of the governorship and State House of Assembly election.

The party urged INEC and security agencies to ensure that Saturday’s elections are free, fair and credible in all states of the federation.

This was contained in a statement issued by Olisa Metuh, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, on Friday in Abuja.

The statement said President Goodluck Jonathan had proved beyond reasonable doubts that he was committed to free, fair and credible elections through his actions on March 28 elections.

It said this had earned the president accolades from well-meaning Nigerians and the international community and regarded as a true democrat.

“We totally condemn this unwarranted and unnecessary tension being created in Lagos State, a day before the elections,” the statement said.

It advised parties to desist from propaganda and false alarms.

According to the statement, the PDP successfully nurtured democracy in the last 16 years with attendant benefits to the people naationwide.

It called on Lagos State residents to disregard any false propaganda and come out in large number on Saturday to exercise their franchise.
