A former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Musa Gwadabe, has urged Nigerians to support the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to move the country forward.

He made the call on Thursday in Kano while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the presidential election.

According to him, the president-elect needs the support of all Nigerians to enable him discharge his duties effectively, saying the good effort of the electorate should not be ignored at this time.

“If Buhari can get the suppors of Nigerians, it will go a long way in assisting him to work hard in reviving the nation’s economy and fight corruption in all its ramifications,” he said.

Gwadabe said that the expectations of Nigerians from the new president-elect could only be realised if Nigerians gave him the necessary support.

He said that the victory was not for the new president alone, but for the country and all Nigerians.

Gwadabe commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his courage in accepting defeat when he congratulated Buhari even before the official announcement of the election results.

“Jonathan has attained the status of statesman because he had exhibited a high sense of political maturity by conceding defeat. In fact, he deserved commendations,” he said.
