The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kano State chapter, has called for the cancellation of results of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

This was contained in a petition signed by the party’s Secretary, Alhaji Auwalu Danzabuwa, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

“The PDP hereby protest the way, manner and procedure adopted by your commission in the conduct of the above exercise.

“The party hereby demand the cancellation of the election in its totality in Kano State,” the petition said.

The party said that the number of votes in many of the polling units exceeded the number of accredited voters as captured in the card reader and manual accreditation.

“We hereby put forward the following as examples, Gurjiya Cikin Gari Polling Unit (006), Dagumawa Cikin Gari Polling Unit (007) and Dagumawa Bayan Sakateriya (004).”

The petition also alleged that many voters were deliberately denied the right to vote by APC supporters.

It alleged that the commission in some areas did not provide adequate number of ballot papers needed at the polling units and other voting materials at Dawakin Tofa Local Government.

According to the petition, Dawakin Tofa and Rimin Gado local governments received 40,000 and 15, 000 ballot papers respectively.

It said that the figure was short of the number needed to conduct free and fair election in the areas.

“In addition, a car Renault model belonging to one Alhaji Bilya of Bachirawa Quarters was loaded with APC thump printed ballot papers; the case was reported to Bachirawa Police Division.

“Violent conduct by APC members chased out eligible voters from polling units and stuffing of ballot papers, thump printed by APC agents while INEC officials were made to endorse same under duress,” the petition alleged.
