The national leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has lamented the plan by the Federal Government to discredit the process of card reader machine.

Speaking after voting at his polling unit at Sunday Adigun, Alausa, the former governor appealed to the people of the state not to resort to violence as a result of what he ascribed to the frustration of the voters and the sufferings of the people during the process of accreditation.

Tinubu stated that the flaw of the card readers “is a collusion between the institution and the government in power.”

He disagreed with plans that places where people could not vote should postpone till Sunday, Tinubu said he “will challenge it. I will challenge it as a voter in Lagos,” he urged the affected voters “not to resort to violence.

“We will do an assessment of the entire process to determine if we will challenge the anomalies in the court of competent jurisdiction.”

Tinubu said he was disappointed at the news that the INEC website and database had been hacked into, noting that it “is still disappointing. You see American, Germans and Europeans are the experts. They protect their websites effectively.

“Why all dubious things in Nigeria? Why all this information? Are you proud of these flaws? We have seen text messages indicating delay in the operation, lack of effectiveness. The attempt is to discredit the process of card readers and suppress the votes of Lagos State. It is not going to work,” he said.

Tinubu said his party could not yet throw out the “baby with the bath water. We will look at the situation when we end this exercise. I am still confident up till this moment. It depends on materiality.

“How material are those problems affecting the people can only be determined later. The problem is more in Lagos other states,” he said.
