A middle aged man, identified as Igie Osayande was reportedly shot dead on Saturday at Obagie in Ikpoba-Okha local area of Edo State, following a clash between two factions.

Osayande, who was said to be the chairman of Uvbie Community, was reportedly shot along with his brother, Igie Obafuedo who is said to have been taken to an unidentified hospital for treatment.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin.

The incident was said to have occurred at undisclosed polling unit during the presidential and national assembly elections.

It was however gathered that there had been contentious issues between the warring camps prior to the elections.

When contacted, Edo State Policeman Spokesman, Joseph Edoigiawerie, DSP, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
