Members of the National Youth Service Corps who are ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were stranded today at INEC office in Enugu, eastern Nigeria, as there was no vehicle to take them to polling stations to carry out the voters accredition exercise.

As there seemed to be no solution to the problem, INEC had to make arrangement to convey most of them in trucks to the polling stations.

In spite of this develpoment, INEC declared that it was ready to conduct free, fair and credible elections in the state as it has distributed all the sensitive materials to all the polling units across the state.

Making this known is the director of INEC Information, Dr (Mrs) Anthonia Ekwo at the INEC who expressed the readiness of INEC.
