As the governorship election is draws near, support has come the way of candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ogun state, as the Arewa Youth Forum in the state have pledged their support for the party.

The group also accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) led by Ibikunle Amosun of not recognising them, thus, describing the governor as “ethnocentric dictatorship” that does not take Hausa into consideration in his governance.

This was stated on Friday during a press conference by the group, which was held at the Press Centre, Iwe Iroyin, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.

Addressing newsmen, the leader of the group, Prince Hadi Sanni disclosed that the former governor of Ogun State and now a chieftain of the SDP, Aremo Olusegun Osoba brought the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun to them in 2011 as the ACN gubernatorial candidate while soliciting for the support of the Hausa community then.

He hinted that the governor, since assuming office has not deemed it fit to visit them or compensate the community for their unflinching support during the 2011 elections, adding that, this is the pay back time for him and the APC.

“Amosun is an ethnocentric dictator and leader that does not take us into any consideration in his policy implementation regarding appointment, employment, social amenities.

“Amosun spent all his four good years in office, without delivering any amenities to the Hausa community, let alone coming down to see us,” he stated.

Sanni, however declared that the forum, after adequate consultations and deliberations finally agreed to endorse the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

The Arewa Youth Forum disclosed that the group arrived at the decision, having considered the leadership structure of the party, which according to them, is championed by a political icon and juggernaut, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

“We wholeheartedly pledge the absolute support of all our members for the great, passionate and progressive candidates of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the forthcoming general elections,” Sanni posited.
