Tennis: Quadri Vows To Shine For Nigeria

Nigeria’s youngster, Oyinlomo Quadri, has expressed optimism ahead of Nigeria’s trip to Tunis, Tunisia for the African Junior Tennis Championship, AJTC.

The talented female tennis player, who defeated Angel McCleod at last weekend’s MP Tigers Country Club Clay tournament, believes that the country is well poised to come out tops at the annual championship.

In a chat with P.M.NEWS Sports before their departure to the North African country, Quadri, double gold medalist at the Lagos State Secondary Schools Sports Festival tagged Ibile Games 2015 noted that a lot of hard work has been put in for the Nigerian representatives to emerge as African Champions at the junior level.

“Most of the Lagos players trained together on the clay court at the Country Club even before the tournament that was concluded last weekend.

“The federation could not camp us but we have been training and perfecting strategies ahead of the championship. I believe strongly in all our players and I hope that we can win more medals for the country.

“I will be playing in the U-14 category in Tunisia. I defeated McCleod to win the U-16 category of the tournament at the Country Club. That was a really big boost for me,” he said.

and I hope to translate that to medal-winning performance at the AJTC in Tunisia,” 13-year old Quadri said.

McCleod, Blessing Patrick, Timipre Godsgift, Micheal Oshewa, Michael Ayoola and Martins Abamu were the other players on the flight to Tunisia from Lagos.
