The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdul Kabir Adekunle Akinlade has refuted a statement credited to his PDP counterpart, Hon. Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade who was alleged to have called him one of his boys.

The two Akinlade’s who bear same surname are coincidentally not related.

While Abiodun Akinlade who has been representing the area since 2003 is from Owode in Yewa South local government, the other Akinlade, who was the former Special Assistant on Taxation to Governor Ibikunle Amosun is from Agosasa in Ipokia local government area.

The information filtered round the constituency on Monday that Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology in an interview addressed Adekunle as one of his boys.

Speaking with our correspondent in Oniro, ward 2 in Ipokia township,’Triple A’, as he is fondly called, declared that he can never been a boy to the federal lawmaker.

According to him, “Someone told me that Akinlade said I am his boy. I told the person that in 2003 when Abiodun was struggling to contest for the Reps., when he was looking round for support then, I was already living in London. I left this country in 2000 to live in England, so, there is no way I could be his boy.

“When I came back to Nigeria in 2006, I established my own company, Clevland Investment Management Limited, a wealth management firm which I have been running and maintained as the MD/CEO till date. So, I don’t know where and when I became Abiodun’s boy, those are the understatement that we must expect to hear in politics.

“I am now 45, I have seen all what I believe I should see. In that regards, I don’t think anything can change me now. I’m already married, I have my children, live where I wish and I’ve driven exquisite cars by the grace of God. By now, what I need is to start building up a legacy for myself.

“I am doing this because at 50, what I must start building a legacy and not acquiring material things. To God be the glory, I have done all that about 10 to 15 years ago,” Triple A said.

The APC candidate further disclosed that the party will sweep the votes on election day, saying more defectors have come into the party from the opposition parties.

He also disclosed that many people are on daily basis defecting to the APC, while others are pledging their loyalty and support for the party.

‘Triple A’ advised the people of his constituency to remain calm as their Permanent Voters Card will be brought before the week runs out as promised by the governor.

The APC candidate urged the people not to be deceived or cowed by deceitful politicians to sell their PVC’s or collect it from them for monetary exchange.
