The Southwest co-ordinator of Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO). Engr. Tunde Madeyin has faulted the clamour and support for President Goodluck Jonathan for his presidential bid.
According to him, “in no way can we compare Jonathan with Buhari looking at the antecedent of the former Head of State.
“It’s quite unfortunate that the national chairman of UPN Dr. Fredrick Fasheun and Chief Gani Adams are in this mess to confuse fellow Nigerians.”
The organization described them as sycophants and hypocrites of the highest order.
“To start with they don’t have the capacity and the charisma to represent the entire Yoruba race,” Madeyin said.
He said these are the same people faulting the administration of Mr. President Goodluck Jonathan, but immediately they were appointed as members of the just concluded CONFAB they change their tone because of what they have achieved.
Engr. Madeyin said Nigeria does not deserve the position it has found herself today.
He said the Nigeria of today is buffeted by crippling poverty, sheer impunity, insecurity, corruption of the highest order and economic downturn.
“So which parameter are they scoring Good Luck Jonathan?” he asked.
“The youths in Nigeria can no more be deceived by leaders who do not have a good legacy to protect their interest.”
Madeyin added: “Buhari is a proud and honourable pensioner after a lifetime of selfless service to his fatherland”.
“He has not exploited and abused the privilege of holding public office to loot the public treasury so as to feed his greed. This remarkable and incomparable patriot was a former governor of the then North Central state (Borno, Yobe and Adamawa), General Officer Commanding (GOC) the third Division of the Nigerian army, former Petroleum Minister. Buhari’s character, integrity are unimpeachable”
“Despite occupying these high profile positions, he owns no property in Lagos, Abuja or outside the country. This is a most rare virtue in corruption-ridden contemporary Nigeria. It is why millions of Nigerians passionately admire and adore the austere General.”
