The Defence Headquarters on Monday in Abuja said troops were dominating operations in Kukawa, Geri, Gujba in Yobe to rid terrorists out of their hideouts in the communities.

This was contained in a statement posted on the Defence Headquarters’ website.

“Troops are dominating operations in Kukawa, Geri, Gujba in Yobe, to rid the terrorists on Sunday,” it said.

It said the Nigerian troops on Sunday night invaded Kukawa Geri, Gujba in Yobe and were determined to flush out the insurgents from their remaining hideouts.

NAN recalls that most of the local governments and communities previously occupied by terrorists in the affected states have been liberated by the Nigerian troops.

The Nigerian troops had earlier routed terrorists from Bara, headquarters of Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe, and Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa.

Other locations also cleared during the operations include: Shikah, Fikayel, Tetebah, Buza, Kamla and Bumsa.

The troops had also recovered Monguno, Marte, Gamboru Ngala, Dikwa and Baga, among other big towns and communities.
