Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state on Tuesday advised 6,400 supporters of the People Democratic Party ( PDP) who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure they collect their Permanent Voters Card to enable them vote in next month’s general election.

Wamakko was speaking in Tambuwal, Sokoto state while addressing a large crowd of party supporters during the gubernatorial campaign in the area.

He advised the leaders of the defectors, Alhaji Ahmed Tafida and Alhaji Maiakwa Magaji former chairman of the local government to sensitise supporters on the need not to sell their PVCs.

He said that the PVCs remain the only tool needed to bring in good leaders through free, fair and credible elections.

He urged the people to accept the rice, semovita and money being offered by some politicians, stating that, they were returning to the people part of the money looted from the public treasury.

He was quick to add that the politicians offering such bribes do not have the interest of the people at heart.

He said that the APC led administration will implement people oriented policies that will meet the expectation of Nigerians.

He said that the party remains the hope of Nigerians in addressing their yearnings and aspirations.

He called on those who are yet to register to do so for the overall development of the nation nascent democracy.

Speaking earlier Alhaji Ahmed Tafida said that the APC represents the hope Nigerians are yearnings for.

He promised to continue to mobilize the people in the area to cast their votes to all their party candidates.

Also speaking Alhaji Maiakwa Magaji said the party supporters have embarked on political education, noting that, they have been told to play politics without bitterness.

He promised to mobilize supporters in the area to work hard in ensuring the success of the party at the next month’s elections.
