Obesere Meets Joanthan Over Piracy

Fuji music star, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, has met with President Goodluck Jonathan to discuss on the vexing issue of piracy plaguing the industry, P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends learnt.

Obesere was among  members of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on a visit to Aso Rock, Abuja for a closed door meeting with the President and he took the opportunity to invite the President aside to discuss the need to revisit the existing law against pirates which only allows them pay a paltry fine of N50,000.

Obesere’s opinion is that any pirate can easily afford the fine and this has given the pirates more confidence to continue with the criminal act.

The music star later told some journalists that his one-on-one meeting with the President was fruitful and said the President promised to  revisit the law which will help to deal with the issue of the meagre fine.

The Fuji artiste, who is the main artiste the PDP in South-west engaged for its campaign, expressed his enthusiasm that it will no longer be business as usual for pirates.
