Taraba assembly approves N2bn loan for MSME development

The Taraba House of Assembly on Tuesday approved the request by the state government to obtain a N2 billion loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.

The approval followed a request for the loan made by the Acting Governor of the state, Alhaji Sani Danladi, to provide job opportunities to the teaming youths in the state.

At the emergency sitting on the floor of the house, the Speaker, Dr. Mark Useni, thanked the members for granting the approval and directed the Clerk of the house, Mr. Ismaila Tentason, to communicate the resolution to the executive.

Earlier, the Majority Leader, Mr. Joseph Kunini, said the loan would be accessed from the N220 billion earmarked by the CBN for development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the country.

The request was adopted by Mr Charles Maijankai, representing Karim and Mr. Daniel Tsokwa of Takum seconded it.
