Shun financial inducements, APC guber candidate tells voters

Senator Atiku Bagudu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kebbi state, has appealed to voters in the state to vote wisely and shun financial inducement during the February general elections.

Bagudu, who made the appeal on Saturday in Dakingarim, Suru local government area at the inauguration of his campaign team, urged the electorate to vote for candidates whose party’s manifestos are people-friendly.

“Your permanent voter card is your right; you must not trade it for material and financial gains,” he said.

Bagudu called on registered voters in the state to ensure that they collect their permanent voter cards and vote for APC candidates.

He promised that the leadership of the party would ensure that grazing land are demarcated to boost livestock production

The APC flag bearer also pledged to give priority to security if voted into office.

“The present security challenges in the country have adversely affected the movement of farm produce to markets and revenue generation.

“My administration will reverse the trend,” he said.

Bagudu promised that his administration would introduce modern farming techniques to boost commercial production of cash crops like rice, onions among others.

He also promised to create jobs and improve the economic status of women, widows and orphans.

In his remark at the occasion, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu, the Director-General, Atiku Bagudu campaign team, said the leadership of the APC in the state would ensure violent-free campaign.

He said the party would also ensure that its candidates dwell on issues.

He added that the party would not allow its candidates blackmail or attack candidates of rival parties.

Argungu said: “the massive defection of people into the APC is a sign of acceptance and we would ensure prudent leadership.
