Flee from desperate politicians, Wamakko urges youths

Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state, has advised Nigerian youths to resist the temptation of being used by desperate politicians to cause trouble before, during and after February general elections.

The governor gave the advice on Saturday in Sokoto in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He urged the youths should shun “failed politicians who are desperate to win elections by all means.’’

He also urged them to rise up to their responsibility by ignoring any person or group of people who sponsor violence, adding that such people had nothing to offer.

Wamakko said that his government had taken `concrete’ security measures to ensure peaceful conduct of the polls across the state.

“The government will provide a level playing ground for all the political activities in the state,’’ he said.

The governor advised parents not to allow their children to be used by desperate politicians who are bent on causing confusion.
