The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has arrested three suspected pipeline vandals at Araro village in Ogooluwa Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Oluwole Olusegun, the command’s Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan.

He said a local vigilance group assisted the command in arresting the suspects.

Olusegun said that the suspects were arrested on Sunday at about 11:30 p.m. while 105 empty kegs were recovered from them.

He said that the vandals were arrested close to the pipeline right of way at Araro Village in an unregistered pick up van.

Olusegun said that the NSCDC Commandant, Adebayo Ayeni, had directed that the suspects be arraigned in court after investigation.

He quoted Ayeni as saying that the command would not relent in its efforts at ridding the state of crime.
