The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Enugu State, Mr Okey Ezea, said the recent peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries nationwide was a clear affirmation of its progressive policy.
Ezea said this during an interview with NAN on Sunday in Abuja.
He said this would manifest in the administration of all sectors when the party won election and assumed office.
Ezea, who expressed confidence that the party would form the next government in Enugu state, lamented what he described as the abject neglect of youths.
“It makes my heart bleed to see our youths roaming the streets jobless, even after acquiring higher education.
He stressed the need for governments at all levels to plan for the future of the youths. “Diogenes Laertius, a biographer of Greek philosophers, said that the foundation of every state lies in the quality of education of its youths.
“So, education will occupy a prime place in my administration. In the immortal words of former American President, Franklin D Roosevelt, `we cannot always build the future for our youths but we can build our youths for the future”.
“I believe that implementing a well-articulated programme for the youths is the surest means of laying a solid foundation for the youths of today to become the responsible leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
