Lateef Raji, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola is optimistic that he will bring the much needed change to Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1 when he is elected to the National Assembly.

Even beyond his constituency, he believes that he can impact the state and the country with his well thought out policies and bills. His says he wants to represent his constituency because of his passion to bring advanced democracy to Nigeria.

“The idea of a representative is one that is hinged on personal efforts and disposition to issues. I want to use my representation to address problems in my constituency, promote the general welfare, and ensure the development of the people and residents of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1,” he said.

Raji is not new to serving the people of Lagos. He was responsible for digitizing information management in Lagos and he also ensured that Alausa Alert, the official publication of the Lagos State Government went digital.

Through his pro active initiatives, the Ministry of Information and Strategy has been able to digitalize films for electronic access and effective record management.

Raji is not one that likes to blow his own trumpet. When asked how he would change his constituency, he said: “There is always room for improvement. Whatever, gains or deficits that have been recorded, I believe there is still room for improvement. For me, I believe there are some issues that have national implications that were not properly handled by the House of Representatives. Equally, there are some things the House has done that are beneficial to the people. There is room for improvement.”

The soft-spoken technocrat/politician was Chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD) between 2007-2011 and was state secretary between 2003-2007. He has performed in many capacities for the party.
