Four members of Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s cabinet today resigned their appointment with Ogun state government. The four members acted based on the directive that any member contesting next year’s election should quit their office.

Those that announced their resignation today during the state executive council meeting were two commissioners, a special adviser and the deputy Chief of Staff to the governor.

The Commissioners are that of Youths and Sports, Prince Dr. Lanre Tejuoso, who is contesting for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat and his Urban and Physical Planning counterpart, Mr Olugbenga Otenuga, who is eyeing the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency seat.

Mr Tunde Sanusi, the special adviser on Environment, who is contesting for the State House of Assembly from Obafemi Owode State Constituency and deputy Chief of Staff to the governor Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, who is also contesting for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat.

Governor Amosun thanked the four members for their loyalty, commitment and support since the inception of his administration, praying that God guides them all in their future endeavours.

Among those that have resigned before today is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tax, Mr. Abiodun Akinlade, who is contesting for the
Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency; the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Water Resources, Engr. Waidi Otun, who is vying for the lower chamber seat to represent the good people of Ijebu Central Constituency.
