PDP congratulates TAN on pro-Jonathan rallies

The PDP has congratulated the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) on the successful conclusion of its sensitisation rallies nationwide in support of President Goodluck Jonathan as PDP’s sole candidate for 2015 presidential election.

This was contained in a statement issued by Olisa Metuh, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, on Monday in Abuja.

He said that throughout the rally, the numerous achievements of the President Jonathan-led PDP administration were adequately projected to the Nigerian populace and the international community.

“The TAN movement, which is a novelty in the nation’s political development, has indeed deepened democracy and broadened citizen participation in the polity.

“The collection of over 17 million signatures in support of President Jonathan during the rallies is a clear demonstration of the far-reaching acceptance of our standard bearer and his party,” Metuh said.

He particularly noted the unique contributions of Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, the leader and the brain behind the TAN movement.

He also recognised the willingness of TAN to work with the PDP in furtherance of its collective objective ahead of the 2015 general elections.

NAN reports that the TAN rally was held in the six geopolitical zones of the country with its grand finale on 18 October at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
