A commissioner in the cabinet of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Comrade Orobosa Omo-Ojo, has promised to battle Omosede, daughter of business mogul and Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, to the last to secure the ticket for the Ovia Federal Constituency in the 2015 general elections.

Omo-Ojo who is contesting on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), said he is poised to deny Omosede Igbinedion of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), if given the mandate to flag the party’s flag in the election.

Omo-Ojo who spoke in Benin shortly after obtaining a form of intent to contest for the Ovia Federal Constituency seat at the House of Representatives, took a swipe at politicians who take undue advantage of unemployed youths.

He said it smacks of ingratitude on the part of such politicians to use the youths to win election only to dump them soon after they assume office, adding that, his era will mark the beginning of true representation that will bring dividends of democracy to the people.

“We can see the beginning of true and pragmatic representation that will carry everybody along, leadership that will attract laudable constituency projects, not motorbike or grinding machines. This is the beginning of an ere where the people’s votes will attract dividends of democracy, scholarships, where youths will be cared for,” he said, adding that he has dedicated the form to Ovia youths who tasked themselves to buy it for him to contest.

Omo-Ojo, a journalist cum politician, also promised to ensure that the lot of oil and gas producing communities in Ovia was improved.

He said communities must carry out need assessment to determine what projects the want and not oil companies forcing projects on them, even as he noted that Edo State was not getting a fair share of its oil wealth.

The aspirant who is the current Edo State Commissioner for Transport promised that he would assist to ensure that shut down marginal oil wells in Ovia were re-evaluated to resume production while communities habouring non-productive oil wells would also be assisted to reclaim their land for use for other purposes.
