Nigeria’s Super Falcons are in high spirits ahead of their clash with arch rivals, Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the semi final of the ongoing Africa Women Championship, AWC, taking place in Namibia. The match is scheduled for Wednesday at Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek at 17:00 (5pm Nigerian time)
Head coach of Super Falcons, Edwin Okon boasted that his girls are in a killer mood and ready to devour their opponents.
Okon said his side are angry as well as hungry and will certainly punish the South Africans for the 2012 AWC semi final defeat in Equatorial Guinea.
“We’re angry, hungry and won’t allow ourselves to be beaten twice by the South Africans at same stage of the championship. We must win the clash as it is quite important for our qualification for the World Cup in Canada,” he said.
The last three teams standing in the tournament will represent Africa at the FIFA Women World Cup in Canada next year.
