Bishop Abraham Ekoja, the Resident Pastor of Holiness Evangel Mission, Karu Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, has advised ministers of God to separate the gospel from business ambitions.

Ekoja gave the advice at a two-day conference of Pastors, Evangelists, Ministers and Apostolic Leaders with the theme; “Divine Consecration” held in Masaka, Nasarawa State.

He said that the current trend of making the household of God a money making venture was a total deviation from the purpose for which the Church of Christ was established.

According to him, the Church is for the winning of souls to the kingdom of heaven and not a business hub.

The bishop said “do not trade with God’s ministry because that is a devilish idea, and it is an abomination in the sight of God.

“Due to the zeal to make money from the Church, some ministers of God have compromised the standard of preaching the gospel by not telling their members the truth.

“As such, some of the most celebrated pastors today already have their names completely removed from the heavenly list”.

In a message during the ordination of six new pastors, Ekoja said the household of God was in need of more workers for the winning of more souls for the kingdom.

He said the workers, however, must build their foundation on truth and dedication to God’s standards.

He charged them to use God’s powers, which were given to every believer, to promote the Church and God’s kingdom.

In his remarks, Pastor Peter Omale, a guest speaker at the conference, charged the newly ordained ministers to show dedication to their pastoral calling.

Omale, who reminded the newly ordained apostles of word of God which says “the harvest is plenty, but the workers are few,” urged them to resist temptation of things of the flesh.

He said that the step they had taken could be likened to going into a war which would require the putting on of spiritual armour to win.
