Niger, Benue, Kogi, Imo and Plateau states on Saturday hosted the Glo Xchange mobile money training and orientation programme for prospective agents.

In Imo the event will took place at Oduobi Crescent opp. First Bank Ikenegbu Oweri, in Niger, Opposite Niger state secretariat, Tunga, Minna and in Benue state the event held at plot 8 David Jebe Street Oposite New Otukpo Road, Makurdi while in Kogi State , the event was hosted at 4, Foursquare Church Road, Behind Gloworld, Lokoja.

In Plateau, Air force Guest House, Gold and Base, Rayfield, Jos was the venue for the training. The town hall meetings created an opportunity for interaction between Globacom and the agents and give basic orientation and information to those who desire to do the mobile money business.

A statement from the Head of Mobile Money, Globacom, Mr. Esaie Diei confirmed that the events will take place at the same time at the designated venues. The meeting, he said, is open to the general public especially existing and intending agents.

The training has so far held in over 15 cities including, Lekki, Ikeja, Ibadan, Kaduna, Umuahia, Akure, Ilorin, Oshogbo, Onitsha, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Warri. Others are Kano, Abuja, Benin and Abeokuta.

From all the cities, hundreds of participants signed up to become agents of the mobile money network ready to serve millions of banked and unbanked Nigerians in urban and rural areas around the country.

The participants have been effusive in their praise of Globacom for coming out with the mobile money super agent initiative saying that it would bot the economy, encourage SMEs and aid financial inclusion.
