Champions Kano Pillars beat Crown FC 3-2 at home on Wednesday to stay on course for a third straight Nigeria league title.

Pillars, who have now recorded 53 points in 31 matches of the 38 league games, got their first goal through Isaac Loute in the 14th minute.

The club’s leading scorer Adamu Hassan doubled the lead with a 44th minute strike to end the first stanza 2-0. He has now scored 12 goals.

Crown FC came back into the game with an early goal in the third minute of the second half through Onyekachi Okafor, who headed home Ike Chukwujekwu’s cross.

But on-form Azeez Shobowale increased Pillars lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute.

Two minutes later, Nedum Francis scored Crown’s second goal.
