The Delta state Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Thursday raised the alarm over alleged plans by the State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, to declare result of the coming Local Government election in the state even without conducting proper election.

The party alleged that despite all attempts to persuade the DSIEC to tell the whole world how it was going to conduct the election and paste the voters register in all the wards that make up the 25 Local Governments in the state, the electoral body did not bulge. It said DSIEC has not been professional in its dealings.

Delta APC Publicity Secretary, Chidi Okonji, further alleged at a press briefing in Asaba that DSIEC has perfected a scientific method to rig the election, noting that most of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidates are already jubilating victory as a result of the assurance from DSIEC.

He warned that if the election is rigged in favour of any party, Deltans, especially the women, will curse and protest naked against the riggers, adding that, the security agents should not be used to intimidate voters because Deltans want a change and they believe only APC has the courage to bring the change.

But DSIEC boss, Moses Ogbe, dismissed all allegations by the APC, adding that the party has no prove. He maintained that only the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has the constitutional power to give voters register.

While lamenting that APC is not the only party in the state, he said the party has from its activities brought some inconsistencies which the commission may no longer tolerate.

He assured that the commission has made lots of progress and was able to get the CD from INEC and has already printed over 16 of the Local Governments to make sure the register is displayed before the election based on its time table.
