Sokoto State Police Command on Monday paraded five persons suspected to have murdered late Alhaji Yahaya Sa’idu, a Director of Finance, Kebbi Government House.
The director was allegedly murdered at Kwannawa Village in Dange Shuni Local Government Area of the state on 15 September.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the command, DSP Almustapha Sani, said this while briefing newsmen on the arrest of the suspects in Sokoto.
He said that the wife of Sa’idu reported the case to the police that her husband was missing since 15 September, and all efforts to trace his whereabouts proved abortive.
Sani said the police subsequently arrested one Bello Ubandawaki who confessed that he and four others carried out the deadly act.
The PPRO explained that the police recovered the deceased body at Ubandawaki’s residence at Kwannawa.
Sani said the wife of the principal suspect, Fatima Ubandawaki, Shehu, Musbahu Musa, Aliyu Sani, as well as Luba Salisu, a friend to the deceased were also arrested.
He said the police command had since commenced intensive investigation on the murder case.
