The FirstNation Airline on Friday confirmed it had subsisting and valid lease with the Skypower Catering Ltd. located at the Muritala Muhammed International Airports (MMA), Lagos.

This was contained in a press release by the airline’s Head, Public Affairs, Mr Luke Terver-Uzer in Ikeja.

NAN reports that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Friday sealed off the premises over unauthorised leasing of its facility to one of the domestic airlines.

The closure took place barely 24 hours after the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Mr Yemi Adelakun, queried the company for leasing out the facility to some airlines without the ministry’s approval.

“We are confident of the Federal Ministry of Aviation have good intention and will not pursue policies that is detrimental to growth and development of the industry,” it said.

The statement said that the airline would continue to work with the ministry and FAAN in good faith.

It added that this was to ensure the maintenance of the support services provided at the premises, which was vital to the airline.
