Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday appealed to members to obtain the INEC permanent voter card ahead of 2015 polls.

The PDP leaders including Chief Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom and Ekiti state governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, made the call at a PDP South-West sensitisation rally held in Lagos.

They stressed that the cards would qualify them to vote for candidates of their choice next year.

Ihedioha said the party was ready to take the South-West in the forthcoming polls, adding “the party was encouraged by the victory of Chief Ayo Fayose in Ekiti state.

“Today, people have come back again to choose the best for themselves.

“We (PDP) mean well for you and the only way to go is to support PDP in 2015 so that the good thing the party is bringing will flow without discrimination,” Ihedioha said.

On his part, Fayose promised that they would mobilise everybody in the zone to ensure that they got the permanent voter card.

According to him, the zone is strategic in the country’s politics. “Your adoption is all we need and we assure you that the results will surprise you.”

Akpabio restated that the PDP would soon “capture” Lagos state and that it would ensure that its resources were used for the state’s transformation.
