Africa’s star studded music fusion show, Coke Studio Africa, Season two premiered last Saturday 13 September on various Nigerian Television studios.
The new season saw the return of Season 1 star Waje and also featured appearances by other Nigerian stars including Olamide, Flavour, Burna Boy and Omawumi. The season’s debut took off with Olamide and Kenya’s Fena jamming an energetic redo of Olamide’s breakthrough hit track ‘Turn Up’.
It was followed by Flavour and Victoria Kimani, who after fun and games remade Flavour’s hit love song ‘Ada Ada’ in sexy coordinating red plaid outfits.
Burna Boy and Tanzania’s petite music star Vanessa Mdee joined an unknown DJ to a remake of Burna’s ‘Tonight’. Omawumi and Mozambiquean heartthrob Jose Valdemiro brought down the house with Omawumi’s debut single ‘In the Music’, while Waje and Ugandan Hip-hop star Navio added a soulful remake of Navio’s ‘Head to Toe’.
