Popular stand up comedian Bovi and sultry on-air personality Toke Makinwa, have been unveiled as hosts for this year’s edition of The Headies, Nigeria’s leading music awards show.
In its ninth season, The Headies 2014, themed ”Feel the Passion…”, will hold on 25 October, and will feature some of the biggest performances and side attractions ever witnessed on the Headies stage.
Ayo Animashaun, CEO, Smooth Promotions, said the decision to pick this year’s hosts for the awards was because Bovi and Toke Makinwa have both made a huge impact in the industry with their outstanding skills and talent.
“Guests are definitely in for a world class experience this year,” Animashaun assured.
Toke and Bovi will join past hosts, Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage, eLDee, Rita Dominic, MI, Omawumi among other A-list celebrities who have graced the Headies stage as hosts.
As the anticipation for the awards builds up, nominees will be revealed later in the month as well as special performances for 2014. As it was the case last year, the recently introduced category, The Best Alternative Song will be featured again this year.
