The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday inaugurated a 19-member Executive and Legislature Interface Committee to ensure a smooth relationship among the three arms of government ahead of 2015 general elections.

The committee was inaugurated by the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu`azu, in Abuja.

Mu’azu said that its essence was to ensure harmonious relationship among the executive, legislature, the judiciary and the party.

He noted that it was also to ensure the speedy passage of executive bills whenever it was on the floor of the house.

“We are the ruling party and when we present executive bills to the National Assembly, our bills surfer a lot. Ordinarily, this should not be the case.”

He expressed optimism that the delay in the passage of such bills would be addressed with the inauguration of the committee through total consultation with members of the assembly.

The chairman said that the committee, headed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapher, “will follow every bill from its formulation”.

He charged the committee, comprising the three arms of government and the PDP, to see the party as its own.

Mu’azu said that its members, which had the PDP National Legal Adviser, Mr Victor Kwom as Secretary, were selected on merit.

He urged them to contribute individually and collectively to the success of the committee to ensure that appropriate recommendation was proffered.

He said this was critical to ensure that the PDP continued to wax stronger as the party of choice ahead of 2015 and beyond.

Responding, the chairman of the committee, Mustapher, pledged that it would ensure appropriate interface between the party and other arms of government.

He added that it would proffer appropriate suggestions and do everything possible to ensure the success of the PDP-led Federal Government transformation agenda.

Members of the committee include Mr Osita Chidoka, Minister of Aviation; Mrs Olujumoke Akinjide, Minister of State for FCT and Sen. Walid Jubril, PDP Board of Trustee (BoT) Secretary.

Others are Mrs Kema Chikwe, PDP National Women Leader; Chief Bolaji Anine and the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen.
