The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa on Wednesday said it had endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Seriake Dickson for re-election in 2015.
The local chapter of the party rose from an enlarged general meeting on Tuesday in Ogbia, Bayelsa, with a resolution to endorse the two political leaders for re-election.
NAN reports that there have been mounting pressure from different groups on President Jonathan to seek re-election at the polls.
Dickson of Bayelsa is yet to declare intention to seek re-election for a second term.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting in Yenagoa, the party expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the two leaders.
The communique, jointly signed by Mr Budget Isaiah, Chairman of the local chapter of the PDP and Rachael Inengite, PDP Women Leader, was endorsed by 40 signatories.
“The achievements of the duo especially in the areas of infrastructure development, education, health, youth empowerment, security, poverty reduction and investment are unprecedented.”
The communique expressed optimism that the years ahead, under the leadership of the duo, would be great going by the pace at which they pursued various development projects.
“We the people of Ogbia LGA under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party are indeed overwhelmed by the achievements of this two great leaders of our party.”
It enjoined the leadership of the party at all levels to adopt the leaders at the federal and state levels during its national and state conventions.
