Senator Satty Gogwim on Tuesday said that the Senate needed bold and outspoken legislators to properly address the teething problems of the nation.
Gogwim, who represented Plateau Central at the senate between 2007and 2011, made the pronouncement in Pankshin during a courtesy call on the council Chairman, Mr Samuel Goar.
The visit was to declare his interest to return to the senate from the zone in 2015.
He advised Nigerians to choose credible people who would represent them well at the senate and bring about the desired growth and development.
He said the constituency had been missing out at the senate due to absence of proper representation and pledged to make a difference if given the mandate.
“I want to go and defend the sanctity of Plateau; all that I need is the mandate of my people. Although I represented my people well last time, I admit I made some mistakes which I hope to correct and put a smile on the faces of my people,” he said.
According to him, good representation is the people’s wish and pledged to attract the desired people-oriented projects.
The senator, who said that he had gone round the five local government areas within the zone, said “the concept of legislation is to go and make laws and struggle to get something for your constituency.”
Responding, Goar said all aspirants within the zone were his people and wished him success in his political ambition.
