The House of Representatives on Tuesday in Abuja donated N200 million to the Victims Support Fund for persons affected by the consequences of insurgency and terrorism in the country.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Tambuwal also commended the solidarity and magnanimity of the private sector for its donations to the fund.

“As a mark of solidarity, the institution of the National Assembly, all it’s agencies inclusive, will be making a humble contribution of N200 million to the fund,” Tambuwal said.

Tambuwal also commended the federal and Lagos State governments for their “proactive and efficient handling” of outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country.

“It is a proof once again that when the true Nigerian spirit is called to duty, nothing is unachieveable.” he added.
