The Sokoto State House of Assembly on Friday passed a vote of confidence on Governor Aliyu Wamakko of the state for his exemplary leadership qualities.

Speaker of the legislature, Alhaji Lawali Zaiyana, led the 27 members on a solidarity visit to Wamakko in Sokoto.

He said that the visit became necessary in view of good sense of leadership exhibited by the present administration in the state.

He said that the visit was also to convey the resolution of the House, which passed the confidence vote on Wamakko for providing democratic dividends to the people.

He pledged that the House would continue to identify with the policies and programmes of the present administration in ensuring democracy dividends were delivered across the state.

Zaiyana called on Wamakko to sustain his laudable policies for the common good of the people.

“We will continue to partner with you in your efforts to better the lots of our people irrespective of the promptings of our some adversaries,” he said.

Responding, Wamakko thanked the lawmakers for their solidarity and passing a vote of confidence on him.

The governor reassured the members of his resolve to continue executing people oriented policies and programmes that would improve the well being of the people.

He expressed delight at the laudable effort of the state legislature for identifying with the reality on ground.

He also commended the members for not listening to the so-called Abuja politicians who do not wish the state well.

He said his administration was operating a responsible government that was concerned about the yearnings and aspirations of the people, irrespective of political differences.

Wamakko called for more working understanding between the executive and legislature to ensure smooth implementation of policies and programmes that would enhance the well being of the people.
