Former Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra is close to signing for Queens Park Rangers after the diminutive defensive midfielder arrived in London for a medical.
The French midfielder will reunite with QPR Harry Redknapp whom he played for at Portsmouth. Diarra, 29, is hoping for a return to the English Premier League and would become Redknapp’s seventh signing of the summer.
The former Real Madrid player was recently sacked by Lokomotiv Moscow and could prove a valuable signing for QPR having played in the Premier League for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth.
Diarra fell out with Lokomotiv coach Leonid Kuchuk after a dispute between the duo and then refused to turn up for training.
Diarra left Portsmouth in 2008 to sign for Real Madrid, where he made 87 appearances for the Spanish giants.
