The Ondo State Government on Friday cancelled all summer school lessons in the state. This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education, Mr Steve Awosika, in Akure.
The statement advised parents, school principals, head teachers and proprietors of private schools to comply with the directive.
It explained said that the directive was in compliance with that of the Federal Ministry of Education.
The statement noted that pupils of public, private primary as well as secondary schools are to resume for the new academic session on 13 October.
Awosika said that a meeting with stakeholders in the education sector in the state would hold on 2 September.
The federal government on Tuesday 26 August postponed the resumption date of primary and secondary schools across the country to curtail the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.
