National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has wished former Economic Financial Crimes Commission boss, Nuhu Ribadu the best of luck in his political career.
Tinubu was reacting to Ribadu’s defection from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party. Tinubu said his relationship with Ribadu will not be hurt despite their party differences.
In a tweet on Tuesday 26 August, Tinubu wrote: Ribadu remains a friend and brother. He is matured. He remains one who believes in liberty, justice and service.”
In the same tweet he said, “I wish him LUCK with GOODLUcK,” believed to be referring to Goodluck Jonathan, the president of Nigeria and a key member of the PDP.
It would be recalled that Ribadu defected from APC to PDP in bid to contest the forthcoming bye-election in Adamawa state slated for 11 October.
Independent National Electoral Commission fixed the date for the bye-election after Governor Murtala Nyako of APC was impeached by the state House of Assembly.
Ribadu will however contend with former Military Administrator of Lagos State, retired Brig,-Gen. Buba Marwa and Senator Abubakar Gire who have also submitted their forms to contest the election under PDP.
The state’s acting governor, Ahmadu Fintiri; Alhaji Hawwa Tukur, son of the immediate past National Chairman of the PDP, as well as Dr Umar Ardo and Dr Aliu Idi Hong also submitted their forms for the election.
